Ayia Napa Sculpture Park
9th April 2019
If you hit a cloudy day, you can’t beat a wander through the Ayia Napa sculpture park. It is world renowned; the best artists in the world wait years to have their work shown here.
There are literally hundreds of pieces of art on display – everything from mermaids, to symbols of peace, beautiful women and wild animals. Plus beautiful views over the sea. Not only that but it’s all free and you are free to touch and explore at your leisure.
Our kids really enjoy it for a limited period – up to about an hour. Then they start lying down on the work (see winged lion).
There are great spots for photos everywhere and a cafe on the hill for an ice-cream and/or a cold one straight afterwards. Although take plenty of water and sunscreen with you.
Go, pretend to be Aphrodite and enjoy every moment. On the way home, maybe stop by the sea caves and, if you’re lucky, you’ll see a bunch of lads throwing themselves off the 12 meter cliffs and into the sea. Hold on to your kids as you watch!
