For a traditional, authentic, Cypriot meal away from the bars and discos, you may want to try Mousikos. Twenty minutes in a car from Kapparis, it is an old farmhouse with large arches. Not touristy, you can expect to find it packed with local families and a few well-informed visitors. Definitely do book.
They are famous for their homemade haloumi and yoghurt (served as starter/side, the former comes in a large portion which is enormous and best avoided if you plan to try anything else) but also for kebabs and traditional meals. The local sausages are astounding – says Chris – but not for kids and best not to ask what’s in them…. The kids can eat simple kebabs served with a few chips and salad. Ours wolfed it down.
Fruit and pastries are included for pudding but ours insisted on trying all the deserts on offer!
