Trotting with Toffee!
22nd November 2018
For an introduction to horse riding for the children, you might enjoy a visit to Toffee at Lynn’s riding stables. What’s lovely is that Lynn takes the riding terribly seriously – in a good way – spending time with each child to show them the ropes. She gives each her full attention and encouragement. With little ones it’s a walk around the paddock, with bigger ones she gets them trotting and learning to guide the pony.
It’s a rustic setting – not a fancy stables – and the other reason to visit the farm is that it’s alive with rescued animals in the process of being rehoused. When we were there, this included 18 dogs! From a Great Dane bigger than Toffee to the scrappiest and scruffiest puppies you can imagine outside of a Disney cartoon. Plus dozens of cats and kittens and a pig (many questions about who he reminds us of).
A lovely morning or afternoon activity if you have a car.
