Villa Alexander has recently undergone refurbishment and is now fitted out with many extras not seen in other villas. Three bedrooms upstairs; the master bedroom has a Juliet balcony; the other double bedroom has full balcony overlooking the pool and views out to sea) and the third is a twin room looking out to sea. There is a family bathroom and also a separate shower / WC room on this floor and space for cots in any of the bedrooms.

Downstairs is open plan with kitchen, dining area and a comfy lounge. Recent additions include new leather sofas, a large American style fridge freezer, flat screen TV and fly screens so you can have a nice breeze without anything unwanted finding its way into the villa! There are two sets of patio doors that open out to the pool area or you can get to the garden through the side or rear doors as well. If you would like the toddler fencing we can put this up with a playhouse and outside toys in front of the pool so one of the patio doors has access to it. This means you can leave that door open so toddlers can play inside or outside in the fenced area away from the pool.

Being down a cu-du-sac with 5 other villas, we often find children from the neighbouring villas gather to play together in front of the villas in the evenings.

The villa is located in Kapparis, a beach resort on the East coast of Cyprus just north of Protaras and Pernera. It is an up-and-coming town which has all the amenities of a bigger resort without the downsides. It’s only 3 minutes walk in one direction to the safe sandy beaches and the same distance in the other to all the restaurants and shops in Kapparis.

Beaches
There are 3 local beaches to choose from, Malama bay being the nearest (3 min walk) and the furthest Fireman’s bay (about 8 minutes’ walk). You can drive and park at the beaches too if you've got too much to carry.

All the beaches are sandy and very sheltered (so perfect for paddling) and along the edges of the coves there are rocky pools & caves to explore! The snorkelling is amazing. The two main beaches (Malama and Fireman’s) are very well maintained and have sunbeds & umbrellas for hire (€2.50 a day) and Malama Bay has a nice tavern where you can enjoy a cold beer and watch the sun go down. Our favourite (we call Bear cove!) is between the two and is nearly always deserted. It does have quite steep steps down to it, but for us definitely worth it.

Restaurants and Shops
Kapparis is a very family friendly town with around 10 great places to eat including Italian, Cypriot & Greek European. There is a very nice modern Italian place (called Just Italian) and 3 local Cypriot restaurants that we really like.

Our favourite is Faliros where the food is fantastic, cocktails are 3 Euros and they have great entertainment on Thursdays! There are about 6 bars, ranging from Mello which is very relaxed with comfy soft sofas inside & out to relax on, to the sports bars that focus more on the latest sports and have pool tables etc. There are plenty of other shops and a fabulous bakery called Marangos which has every type of dessert you could imagine; cakes, breads, sweets and they do takeaway food like lasagne and roast chicken if you don't fancy cooking.

There are 3 supermarkets in Kapparis that cover all the basics; food, fresh fruit and veg, frozen foods, children's essentials (nappies, baby food etc), fun things for pool and beach, and a well stocked off-licence that sells beer and wine called Bottom's Up! Just up the road is a fabulous butchers and further shops with more choice for fresh fruit and veg.

Children's Activities
Kapparis has a great children’s play area with a huge choice of bouncy castles, giant inflatable slides, trampolines and other rides. There’s a parent’s area for relaxing (with a drink and food if you want) while the children play in the park.

  • Transfer time from Larnaca 45 mins
  • Flight time from UK 4 hrs 30 - 5 hrs 10 mins
There are two nearby airports:

Larnaca Airport is a 60 km (36 mile) 45 min drive
Paphos Airport is a 170km (100 mile) 2 hr drive.

Travel from airport to villa

Car hire – plenty to choose from. Some will meet you in the arrivals hall, a few have desks there and some are located just outside the airport. We can recommend a good hire car company that meets you as you come out of the arrivals hall.

Transfers – again plenty to choose from. We have worked with a fantastic transfer company for many years that beat the others on both price and service. They cost €50 each way for 4 people plus luggage and provide child seats for no extra cost. Just let us know your children’s ages and they select the appropriate seat. Its €70 for up to 6 and €80 for up to 8 people. They know all our villas well and make sure you are settled into the villa before they leave you.

Taxi – there is normally a queue of taxis waiting outside the arrivals hall, so a nice and easy although expensive option.

S.S. - November 2018

Loved villa, very clean,, lovely pool and garden, everything we needed, 5 star. Best thing was relaxing whilst enjoying the restaurants. Worst was going home!
Absolutely recommend.

S.K. - November 2018

As always we had a fantastic holiday and enjoyed the villa. It was nice staying in Kapparis and we would definitely like to return again.

B.D. - September 2018

We all had a great time off, nice and relaxing just a shame its all over.
Villa - all aspects were very good.
Transfer was seamless as per usual. Good company to deal with.

P.L. - August 2018

We had a great time. Villa was lovely and we didn't have any issues at all. In stark contrast to our friends who stayed next door but one with a different company and had an awful time with multiple issues with their villa.
Thanks for an amazing experience and we would most definitely use you again.

J.S. - September 2017

Villa Alexander is ideal for a relaxing holiday with very young. Our crawling and climbing grandson was well catered for which made it all so much more relaxing for the adults. The villa was spacious with good air conditioning and a lovely pool. Rosie, the local rep had left age appropriate toys and with a safe stair gate he was free to crawl around and investigate and play. She also provided a buggy, high chair and listening monitor. There were several good restaurants within 10 minute walk and all welcomed the baby in the buggy and provided a high chair on request. The only real problem we had was the heat in September which we hadn't really expected. Both baby and grandparents found it too hot and the local beaches although lovely lacked enough shade. We went early, enjoyed the blue sea and came home for lunch and a cooling swim in the pool instead.

S.W - April 2017

We had a wonderful stay at the villa, my kids loved it and we found being in the villa gave us adults more free time than we normally have when we use hotels. Everything was brilliant - from the taxi collecting us, to Rosie coming over and introducing herself. The town of Kapparis is great and there are lovely restaurants as you know. We visited most of them, mainly on your recommendation in the guest book. We founds Tony's at the top of the road and the kids adored it!! (Aged 7 and 4). It allowed us to have a nice gin and tonic and have adult conversations in peace. I loved everything about the villa, it was perfect. My kids were thoroughly overjoyed at seeing the books, dvds and toys for them to use - such a great idea.
It is a beautiful villa, very impressed with how much space we had. Very family friendly and the small shop done for us before we arrived (milk, bread, etc) was fantastic and a great touch. It was very clean everywhere.
Pool and garden were amazing, loved that there were 6 sun loungers, a large dining table and chairs and then a small coffee table area. It gave different defined areas and we used all of them during our stay.
Rosie was brilliant. We saw her a few times; lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us. The transfer was perfect, very easy. And the return was good too, they knocked the day before to check on timings. Booking was easy.
Best thing was the ease of not having to take everything and knowing it was safe for he children. It really was a home away from home.
Absolutely recommend, without a shadow of a doubt - fab pace, fab holiday. I'd be very happy to return.
