Outside
A lovely private garden with bordering plants and plenty of space for outside dining, sunbathing and lots of space for the kids to have fun! There is a large Cypriot style stone built BBQ with sink and preparation area which makes cooking outside a delight.
The villa is located in Kapparis, a beach resort on the East coast of Cyprus just north of Protaras and Pernera. It is an up-and-coming town which has all the amenities of a bigger resort without the downsides. It’s only 3 minutes walk in one direction to the safe sandy beaches and the same distance in the other to all the restaurants and shops in Kapparis.
Beaches
There are 3 local beaches to choose from, Malama bay being the nearest (3 min walk) and the furthest Fireman’s bay (about 8 minutes’ walk). You can drive and park at the beaches too if you've got too much to carry.
Restaurants and Shops
Kapparis is a very family friendly town with around 10 great places to eat including Italian, Cypriot & Greek European. There is a very nice modern Italian place (called Just Italian) and 3 local Cypriot restaurants that we really like.
Children's Activities
Kapparis has a great children’s play area with a huge choice of bouncy castles, giant inflatable slides, trampolines and other rides. There’s a parent’s area for relaxing (with a drink and food if you want) while the children play in the park.
UK flights to Larnaca - there are lots of different options but these are some of the popular routes from UK airports:
Best thing was how close we were to the beach and shops. The weather was amazing too!
Good quality for reasonable price. No need to bring baby and kids staff along with us. Villa had everything needed to cover our needs.
Rosie responded to each of our request timely and accurately. Zorbas had good quality food for both breakfast and lunch.
Can’t choose a best thing, had a fab holiday! Loved the villa, have stayed here numerous times and can’t fault it. Love the ease of booking and the helpful, friendly attitude shown by Chris.
Rosie is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. An asset to the company.
We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Lydia, the location is perfect for families looking to be near the beach and restaurants as it is all within a 2 minutes walk.
The villa is so well equipped for families with small children with toys, stair gates, scooters and everything you need for a relaxing stay. It’s bright and spacious a with beautiful pool and outdoor space.
Rosie who is there to welcome you and help with anything is amazing, always available and has lots of knowledge of the area.
I can thoroughly recommend booking through Villas4kids, Chris is professional and friendly and makes sure that the whole booking process goes smoothly from the moment you book your holiday until you arrive home.
Will definitely be returning soon.
Thank you and your team for our amazing holiday. The villa was very comfortable for me and my children.
We had another excellent holiday, the Villa is just great and we thoroughly enjoy ourselves although this year with N being a full on toddler, all the safety points were a blessing to ensure we could keep a careful eye on him.
We had a great time at Lydia.
From the initial booking - after much research! - and the helpful tips, this is the perfect first holiday for you and your children. The villa surpassed all expectations, with all the conveniences one would hope for when you have a small child, from the plastic cutlery, crockery and play area, to the bed guard, stair gate and general safety of the villa, with children in mind. There was no shortage of toys/DVDs specific to your child’s age and a BBQ for lazy evenings indoors. The 40 minute taxi journey from the airport is ideal for taking in the surrounding area, the transportation on arrival and departure was pre-booked to remove any complications, and offers peace of mind. The location is ideal. Tony’s bar was perfect for our pre-evening drinks with a large softplay area filled with other children. There is no language barrier between children! Surrounding restaurants are a short walk and plentiful. Little rock pools and shallow water at the nearby beach make it a perfect attraction for little children. Our regret? Next time we shall book for 10 nights through Villas4kids.com. I need say no more. Chris is most helpful and goes out of his way to ensure the perfect holiday. Thank you.
We honestly had the best stay, it was perfect and the villa was great! Thank you again and to Rosie for everything!
The villa was fantastic and had all we needed for our family, from the moment we arrived we just loved our stay, thanks so so much. We will be back and that’s a definite.
Have just returned from a fantastic week staying in Villa Lydia in Cyprus! We visited as a family with two young children (9 months and 2 1/2 years) and grandparents - it was ideal for all of us but especially the children. The villa was perfectly equipped with everything from a baby monitor and stair gates to toys and dvds. Everything you could possibly imagine and more! The outside area was beautiful in the evening with seating and lighting around the pool and practical during the day with a safe play area for the children outside away from the pool. Location was very family friendly, close to a beautiful beach and restaurants. My eldest particularly enjoyed the bouncy castles at Tony’s. Booking was easy and Chris was very helpful answering questions and special requests. Rosie was on hand the whole time and was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this holiday with young children, it was actually relaxing and I didn’t think this would be possible! Thank you villas4kids for a fantastic holiday, we will be back!
Loved the Villa, sparkling clean, joyful garden, excellent welcome. In the end we didn't use the fencing but if A had been younger it would have been essential.
The toys were great and played with every day - very much needed and appreciated.
Loved the local beach. Had everything we needed - glad we hired car so we could go to metro supermarket regularly and butchers.
Car hire people were very helpful.
Best thing was family time.
Would absolutely recommend the Villa to others.
We stayed at Villa Lydia protaras in the first two weeks of September, with 4 adults and We stayed at Villa Lydia in September with three children aged 4, 2 and 9 weeks old. The villa was perfect. Upon arrival, we noticed a selection of age appropriate toys, books and dvds were left out ( a big hit with my older two) along with baby essentials such as steriliser, baby bouncer chair, play mat, and baby pack with wipes, couple of nappies and a night light. We asked for bedguards for the two beds my 4 and 2 year old were in and these were also supplied, as well as an extra stair gate in addition to the ones already there and these were all present on arrival. A double buggy was also supplied which was fantastic as we didn't have to bring ours with us. There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms, and the villa was spotlessly clean. The pool area was great with a fenced section with Wendy house and lots of inflatables, and at night the canopy area was lit up beautifully and lovely to sit out in. Rosie, our contact over there, was great. She arrived the morning after our arrival and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was fantastic. The villa sits in blue water bay kapparis. Having read the description on Villas4kids website, I wondered if it truly was as close to the amenities as suggested, but the villa was exactly as decribed. It was 3 minutes walk to the local bars and restaurants. (Tony 's was a hit with all the inflatable bouncy castles) and just under 5 minutes to the local beach. The other beach (Firemans beach) is about 8-10 minutes walk. Both beaches were beautiful, lovely sand and still crystal clear water. On a few of the days there was a bit of debris on both beaches, cigarette ends etc most likely brought in by the tide, which is a real shame as it spoilt the appearance of what is a beautiful beach but overall lovely and safe for little children to play on. Sun beds were 2.50 Euro for the whole day. It did get busy at the weekends so you'd need to get there early. Kapparis itself is essentially a strip of bars and restaurants, not the most picturesque and if you're looking for nightlife maybe not the best choice, but for us, with 3 young children, perfect. A great holiday.
We stayed in Villa Lydia for a week in January with a 3 year old and 2 month old for a change of scenery! Villa Lydia was exceptional and had everything we needed! It was immaculately clean and tidy, a selection of books and movies were left out for my 3 year old to enjoy (appropriate for a girls liking so Rosie and the team had obviously taken note of that!). Not to mention all the toys and gated play area outside that had been set up! My little girl was so excited to play with it all! We really did take full advantage of all of the equipment Villas4Kids had to offer! Bed guards, pushchairs, the lot and they even provided a little box of baby essentials incase you run out of a nappy or wipes! Location of Villa Lydia was also a bonus, so close to the beach and also to the bars and restaurants of Kapparis which are open even in January! You'd think packing for a trip with 2 under 4 would be a nightmare but it was the easiest packing ever knowing everything I needed was already waiting for me! I could go on and on about how fantastic I found this Villa, if I could afford to live there full time I would and will definitely be making a return trip! Thank you once again to Rosie and Chris who answered every question and query even when it was nothing to do with the Villa!
We can't praise this villa, or the owners and local manager, enough, on every possible level. Not only is it great for little ones, as so many guests have attested, it is also great for the bigger ones, and it's fascinating to see my teens and twenty-somethings naturally adapt the environment to suit their own needs - water polo, water basketball, wild races in inflatable boats, dolphins, donkeys (?!), floats that double up as weapons (oops, sorry, we broke one), whatever is already available from the owners or previous guests or easily supplemented from the glorious, mad, treasure trove that is Orphanides! My kids even took our table tennis stuff and adapted the garden table to a (somewhat smaller, admittedly) table tennis table. The Wii is a huge bonus - allowing them to retreat during the really hot hours to have fun in an air conditioned interior, and the DVD player gave many hours of evening enjoyment catching up on all the DVDs we brought from home and hadn't had time to savour. There is all-day sun, and always ample shade from the villa itself and HUGE umbrellas. The villa is fully equipped with absolutely everything we needed (including a wonderful water cooler and BBQ equipment) and Kapparis itself has everything that one could wish for (apart from clubbing, which is - I understand - available at Ayia Napa...), with a wealth of very good, friendly, bars, restaurants and shops - the baker's, Rosso's, is particularly excellent. The water park just off the A3 is the best we have encountered anywhere in Europe and, though expensive, it is, we think, worth every cent. If this sounds up your street, you have found a gem - do not hesitate!
We visited Villa Lydia in June for 2 weeks with our toddler and had the most amazing time! Everything was set up at the villa ready for our arrival - stair gates, baby monitor, pool fencing and a fabulous selection of toys and DVDs. The villa itself was clean and very well equipped.
We were able to have a relaxing 2 weeks, secure in the knowledge that our daughter was happy, entertained and most importantly safe. Chris could not have been more helpful in answering our questions before we arrived at the villa.
The mid-stay towel and bedlinen change was a welcome surprise - other villas we have stayed at have not offered this service. Not sure what else I can say - super holiday, super villa, we hope to return next year.
We stayed in villa Lydia and absolutely loved it. It had everything a family with young children needed and more. From the moment we booked it we were looked after by Chris so we knew exactly what to expect. The villa was set up with the things we asked for...stair gates, beds sides, fencing around play area for our arrival.
Location is ideal for a relaxing holiday, no drunks and groups on the streets, just locals and residents so going out for a meal in the evening was perfect. (A must visit is Faliros restaurant) and the local bar Tony's is ideal for evening fun for the children, perfect after we'd had an evening BBQ.
We loved it that much we've rebooked for this year and are hiring a car so we can get out to see a few more beaches though there is a good few only a few minutes walk away from the villa.
We did miss having the cleaners in during our stay but Chris has happily arranged this for us for our coming stay.
We'd definitely recommend this holiday and have done to friends who are now also going this year too.
Villa4kids does what it says on the tin. Safe fenced area for infants next to the pool with loads of toys to keep them happy. DVDs for quieter moments and Wii for everyone at night. Two beaches within walking distance pushchair friendly. Excellent restaurants 2-10 mins walk. Villa well equipped for all infants needs (good quality and clean). Nice helpful team of people phone call away if required (e.g. small charge to run you to better and cheaper supermarket as we did not bother to hire a car). So good that we stayed for a month. Make use of the buses to get about as only costs 2 Euro return trip into Protarus or Ayia Nappa. Nice touch that Chris (the owner) came to the villa so make sure everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend this villa for families with children aged 3 months to 12/14 years old.
