What we offer
We know from our own experience how important it is for parents to be able to relax on holiday and that means your surroundings must be child-friendly. It’s no fun staying in a gorgeous Italian farmhouse or fabulous Cyprian villa and worrying all week that your 1 year old is going to topple headfirst down a stone staircase…
That is why we make our villas as baby and toddler friendly as possible with many extras included in your booking price including cots, high chairs and stair gates (top and bottom) plus fenced areas to play away from pools.
As well as having somewhere to sleep and eat, we know it is all the other kids’ stuff needed that can make going away from home seem like a mission to the moon (with more kit than Neil Armstrong ever needed!).
We can provide buggies, changing mats, baby monitors and potty/toilet seat/step plus poolside play area and if needed a baby paddling pool. And for smaller children we have all sorts of goodies from bottle sterilisers, blenders, baby gyms, baby beach tents and even a few spare nappies and wipes in case of emergencies. We only put in the villa the things you actually need so you aren’t tripping over equipment unnecessarily.
We also include lots of toys, children’s’ books and DVDs because kids love nothing better than something new to play with. Our team will make sure that there are age-appropriate toys for your little ones, or not-so-little ones, to enjoy!
All our villas can be set up so that you can relax without worrying that your little ones are going to topple into the pool when you are not around.
The fencing is secure and depending on the villa can often be set up on one section of the garden to create a play area with play house and toys in front of the pool so one of the patio doors has access to it; meaning you can leave that door open so toddlers can play outside.
So much talk of the children, but the grown ups need a holiday too. Don’t worry, we know!
From verandas for wine, to good collections of DVDs and books, to lovely BBQs, we provide everything we can to help the adults enjoy themselves too. If you want a babysitter, we’ll find one and recommend the best local restaurant for a date. Go on, it’s your holiday too…
Each villa has a welcome book and our local team can also help with advice on where to shop and the best restaurants for kids. We can also provide a full grocery pack on arrival so you don’t have to pop out before that first much-needed cup of tea or glass of wine ;-).
Extras such as a maid service and folding guest beds are available if needed.
Airport pick ups can be one of the most stressful parts of a trip away with kids. So, we help with those too. In Cyprus we can recommend a great personal taxi / transfer service (also a family company) who will meet you in arrivals and see you through the front door of your house. Not drop you on a pavement outside! If you’re driving we take pride in providing the best possible directions to the house, with a photograph of every sign on the journey. It’s one of the things we are most complimented on.
In Italy generally guests hire a car and we provide detailed driving instructions with photographs along the way but transfers can be arranged in most cases – please just ask. However you travel, we do all we can to help ensure the smoothest possible journey from the airport to the villa.
If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from running this business for six years, it’s that people choose their holiday for the location and the house. But they review it and return, based on how they were treated while they were there. So we put a lot of effort into either providing our own manager or choosing houses that are well-run by dedicated people committed to the highest level of service for families and children.
In Cyprus, we have Rosie who is a former nanny, to welcome our guests and ensure they have everything they need. She has worked with us for a few years and lived in Cyprus for a decade. Our guests absolutely love her. She carefully sets up each house based on the ages of the guests, so you get the right sort of toys and equipment for your family and then at the end of the season she spends the winter making sure the houses are fully refurbished and ready for the next year. She can be contacted by phone/text throughout your stay should you have any questions, problems or need (holiday-related!) advice, from where to buy sun-cream to where to get a deal on the local beer.
In Italy, where the villas are more dispersed we work with a number of fantastic local managers to ensure you get the best possible service during your stay.
